1. Tag and label honestly
Use the most accurate content level, story warnings, fandoms/universes, pairings and relationships, featured characters, and story tags you reasonably can. Do not intentionally mislabel a story to evade reader filters or moderation.
2. Respect people, even when you dislike a story
Harassment, credible threats, stalking, slurs directed at users, coordinated dogpiling, impersonation, and repeated unwanted contact are prohibited. Critique may address a story; it may not become targeted abuse of its writer or readers.
3. Respect privacy and consent
Do not publish private addresses, phone numbers, identifying records, private messages, intimate material, or other personal information without permission. Do not use StoryBloom to facilitate non-consensual surveillance or harassment.
4. Post only material you are entitled to share
Do not plagiarize another writer, repost another person's story as your own, or upload material when you lack permission to distribute it. Fan works must not be presented as official or endorsed by the original rights holder.
5. Do not manipulate StoryBloom
No automated views, likes, follows, comments, update follows, spam tags, deceptive accounts, bulk unsolicited messages, or other attempts to manufacture engagement or disrupt discovery.
6. Use community tools responsibly
Anonymous posting, Bloomrooms, Reading Circles, messaging, comments, Memory Petals, and Reading Paths remain subject to these rules. Private or anonymous spaces are not exempt from moderation when the service receives a valid report or must address safety, security, or legal obligations.
7. Keep hosted fanworks noncommercial
StoryBloom does not provide paid access to fanfiction. Do not require payment, memberships, tips, or purchases as a condition for receiving access to a fanwork hosted on StoryBloom, and do not use comments, tags, or messaging primarily as commercial spam.
8. Follow applicable law
Do not use StoryBloom to distribute unlawful material, facilitate fraud, make credible threats, violate another person's privacy rights, or otherwise use the service in a manner prohibited by applicable law.
Moderation and appeals
StoryBloom may remove content, limit features, restrict accounts, or terminate access for serious or repeated violations. Moderators should use proportionate actions when practical, document significant actions in the audit system, and offer the built-in appeal process for eligible decisions.
Reader responsibility
Use filters, warnings, blocks, and exclusions to shape your own reading experience. Properly labeled fiction should not be targeted solely because another user dislikes its pairing, trope, genre, or subject matter.
